Welcome to the Northern Territory

Equivalent in size to France, Italy and Spain combined, it's not surprising the Northern Territory is blessed with an abundance of natural environments. This is a land of awe inspiring iconic wonders and World Heritage National Parks, of flora and fauna as diverse as desert blooms are to lotus lilies and the fearsome saltwater crocodile is to the Brolga, the elegant dancing bird that is our emblem.

Our indigenous culture, the Aboriginal people, hold a deeply spiritual connection to the land dating back tens of thousands of years, yet can still be shared in the present day.

This land is full of colourful characters. The type you'd meet at one of our legendary outback pubs, cattle stations or country towns. Uncomplicated, larger than life, everyone with a fascinating story to share.

The city of Darwin
The weather is always warm with a year round average high of 32 degrees Celsius, and is best described as balmy.

Exploring the compact central business district by day is best done on foot, or aboard a jump on and off tour bus.

At night you can immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere of the pubs and nightclubs that dominate the city’s nightlife hub on Mitchell Street, dine at Cullen Bay or try your luck at the asino on Mindil Beach.

Local restaurants serve dishes from all over the world along with authentic Northern Territory cuisine like mud crabs, barramundi, buffalo, kangaroo and crocodile.

Darwin Harbour’s healthy population of barramundi and other tropical fish make it a world-class fishing destination and its turquoise waters set the scene for the more relaxed option of a sunset cruise.
